2015 and Big Data comes closer

Coming closer to the end of 2014, the question comes to mind: “What are the IT trends for 2015 and what role will Big Data play?” Digitization was all around in 2014 and this process will continue to take place in 2015. Digitization isn´t a slow but rather a very fast process. This will mean that “the gap between digital leaders and digital laggards will widen [even more] in 2015”.

Digital laggards from all types of business, such as mobile solutions or privacy, will be left behind. Forrester analysts say: “2015 will serve as an inflection point where companies that successfully harness digital technology to advantageously serve customers will create clear competitive separation from those that do not.” Along with the digitization, mobilization will play a key role in 2015. By the end of 2015 42% of the world´s population will own a smart phone. This will lead to a subsequent change in the consumers behavior. They expect to get their needs satisfied by an immediate response in their moments of needs. If your business is not able to satisfy the immediate needs of the consumers, you won´t be successful in the market.

Money alone brings not automatically more security

A topics that always comes along with digitization and mobilization is the problem of security. Security always plays a huge role, especially when you deal with sensitive private customers informations. As everything get´s connected, there are potential security lacks, which many companies try to fix by increasing their spending on security. However, Forrester says that there is not direct correlation between higher investment in security and actual improvement in security. Inaccurate work despite higher investment can lead to security leaks. However, this can be an opportunity for some companies to stand up and shine by offering a better protection of the customers data more security. Therefore, a solid security system will be perceived very positive in the eyes of the consumers and represent the values of safety, trust and precision.

Big Data will also not be untouched in 2015. Last year, the Big Data Investments have been concentrated on analyzing and mining external data for your business strategy. But in 2015 the investment will most likely focus on deeply analyzing the value of both internal and external data and assessing their value for the company. This will be a major opportunity to discover new markets for their products and gain market shares and revenue.

2015 will be an challenging year

One major change in 2015 will take place in the cloud service business, since it will become a mainstream option, which means everybody will use it. The usage of cloud services will increase exponentially and companies will have to adapt to them, using them to add value to their company by using the cloud to “drive analytics that generate insights and enable business improvements. 2015 will be an challenging year and many changes will be made in the IT sector. Big Data will play a major role, as it will allow companies to use the external and internal data flood to benefit by identifying new potential markets.

Big Data greetings
